Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website or contact us, why we process it and what rights you have.

1. Controller and contact details

The controller responsible for processing personal data is:

Stiftung für Mikronährstoffe – Prävention, Gesundheit, Lebensqualität gemeinnützige GmbH
Represented by managing director Marion Wienecke
Weidenstraße 5, 33790 Halle (Westfalen), Germany

Telephone: +49 5201 81 50 55

Please use these contact details for privacy-related enquiries.

2. Website delivery and hosting by IONOS

Our website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you request a page, your IP address must be processed to deliver the content to your browser.

Hosting generates technical access information, including the requested page or file, time of access, browser and operating system information, device type, referrer and IP information. For its web hosting service, IONOS describes anonymised storage of visitor data for eight weeks and WebAnalytics reporting based on that information. This website does not embed an additional tracking script for this purpose.

The purposes are reliable delivery, error detection and protection of the service. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and functional operation of the website. IONOS acts as a technical hosting service provider within the framework of processing under Article 28 GDPR.

Further information from the provider: data processing by IONOS web hosting (German).

3. Contact by email or telephone

When you contact us, we process the contact details you provide and the content of your enquiry, such as your name, email address, telephone number and correspondence. We use this information to handle and answer your request.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns a contract or steps before entering into a contract. Other enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in communication under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. In individual cases, consent may provide a legal basis under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Providing your information is voluntary. Without the details needed for a reply, we may be unable to handle your enquiry. Data is deleted once the matter is concluded unless legal retention requirements or legitimate reasons justify further storage. Where legal retention requirements apply, use of the data is correspondingly restricted.

4. Cookies, local search and browser features

Our theme does not set analytics or marketing cookies on the public information pages and does not store your language preference in the browser. You select a language through the German or English page addresses.

The master’s thesis search and topic filters run in your browser. This feature does not transmit your search terms to us or to third parties. The copy-address feature writes the displayed email address to your clipboard only when you click it; it does not read existing clipboard content.

WordPress uses technically necessary cookies for signing in and accessing the protected administration area, including authentication and session cookies. These apply to signed-in users and the sign-in process. Where information is stored on or read from a device for this purpose, it is necessary for the explicitly requested sign-in service under section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG. Related personal data processing serves secure administration under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Fonts, images, documents and external links

Fonts, images, figures and study PDFs offered on this website are loaded from our own webspace. In particular, loading fonts does not establish a connection to Google Fonts. External maps, videos and social media content are not embedded automatically.

Links may lead to other websites, including FHM, SALUTO and OpenStreetMap. You access those external services only when you open the relevant link. Any subsequent processing is governed by the relevant provider’s privacy information.

6. Recipients, transfers and safeguards

Personal data is accessible only to people authorised to handle it and to necessary technical service providers, particularly the hosting provider. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

The website features we embed do not intentionally transfer data to providers outside the European Economic Area. If you open an external link yourself, subsequent processing may depend on that provider and its location.

The website uses HTTPS encryption. Despite technical and organisational safeguards, absolute protection of information transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed.

7. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access to your personal data (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20).

Objection: Under Article 21 GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We will then stop processing the data unless overriding grounds recognised by law apply.

You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details above.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of a suspected infringement (Article 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for the foundation’s registered location is:

Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen
Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany
Email: poststelle@ldi.nrw.de
LDI NRW website (German)

9. Automated decisions and policy date

The website does not use automated individual decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
