Degree programme in Micronutrient Therapy & Regulatory Medicine
The programme marks a milestone in research. In 2017, Germany’s first master’s programme in this field began at FHM Bielefeld, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Elmar Wienecke.

After more than 30 years of experience in dentistry and periodontology, as well as 22 years of university teaching, I have always been particularly fascinated by the limits of different treatments. I am especially interested in the underlying reasons why a treatment succeeds or fails. My extensive practical experience has shown me that a patient’s metabolism plays a crucial role in every surgical procedure.
Outstanding lecturers on the programme gave me a comprehensive insight into these relationships. I am particularly impressed by the field’s continuous development and the dialogue with lecturers, sometimes under visionary leadership.
This has deepened my understanding and enabled interdisciplinary progress that can extend the boundaries of diagnostics and therapy. The insights gained are not merely theoretical: they can be applied directly in practice to improve the quality of treatment and provide lasting help to patients.

As one of the first students on the master’s programme in Micronutrient Therapy and Regulatory Medicine, I can say that I was able to expand and consolidate my understanding of regulation in energy and cellular metabolism fundamentally. My patients benefit directly in everyday practice, particularly those seeking alternatives or complementary approaches to conventional symptom-oriented medicine.
My thanks go to Prof. Wienecke and his network of outstanding experts!

The master’s programme was enormously enriching for me. The exchange with my fellow students was very valuable, and the course content helped me make substantial progress. I can wholeheartedly recommend the programme.
